Medieval-Inspired Long/Link-Stitch Binding (2022)
I took a class at the Creative Arts Workshop focused on long and link stitch binding modeled after historical methods of binding (some detail here, instructions for my orginal introduction to this method adapted by Paulette Rosen from Bonnie Stahlecker). Here are two of the pieces I finished — one with a painted piece of binders board for the spine, the other with a cut piece of a belt. (Spring dividers are great)
The belt book has two pieces of decorative stitching as well as the structural stitching; the yellow board spine book is all structural link stitching that was my introduction to the pattern. Covers are Cave Paper.
